Phimai is a city/temple of the old Khmer empire, the same that built Angkor Wat in Cambodia. There are several sites in Thailand that are in amazing shape if not as elaborate or large and thus as awe inspiring as Angkor. There is some magic still, walking around these ancient spaces, that emanates so gently from the stone. Everywhere echoes of the long past when the world was so much bigger, so much wilder, and so full of wonder.
